We can’t do this alone but our walk is an intensely personal one.
We won’t climb out of our addiction without the hands, arms and hearts of others, yet still, our recovery is a choice that is intimately ours alone.
We may be lifted by others, yet each morning we will wake up to ourselves and our impulses.
We are asked to trust, to surrender, to find our own peace in this madness and yet the loneliness can feel so big.
By choosing recovery you are not alone.
By choosing recovery you are connecting the dots of your humanity.
By choosing recovery you are saying I belong here, because you do.
Still, it is our solitude that is our greatest connector. Wherever we go, there we are.
The minute by minute walk in recovery can be harrowing and yet with each step we take (and let’s be honest, we may celebrate the leaps, but sometimes it’s the shuffles forward that deserve the greatest applause), we find our strength. With each daily decision, we bolster up our courage. As we surrender again and again and again to the miracle of this opportunity to really live we begin to feel our own life force once again (for some, maybe for the first time).
As we stop searching for a way out but rather let ourselves in by being here, right here, right here; our intimately personal decision is the beginning of believing that we belong.
Recovery is your path.
Community is where we find it.
Welcome.
